Radio Control Airplanes

Types Of Radio Control Airplanes
Radio control airplanes…there is something about flying that excites certain people. Now, the excitement and dreams of flying have become a reality with RC airplanes . Some of the RC planes today can give you the most awesome flight of your life.

Talk to a dedicated radio control hobbyist, they would tell of the excitement of going to an RC field on a warm, sunny day to fly their radio control airplanes and to enjoy hanging out with other hobbyists and members of RC airplane clubs. It is always amazing to see the many different kinds of aircraft and how they fly through the air. If you want you could even build your own homemade plane. Visit my

Radio controlled planes have a long, rich history, and provide a family oriented hobby for all ages and skill levels. The RC modeler has a wide variety of RC airplanes to choose from, making the hobby more exciting for everyone from the beginner to the expert. You can choose what you want depending upon your taste and the amount of money you are willing to spend. The choice of a particular RC airplane depends upon a mix of style and pilot skill level.
For the beginner,
park flyers
are a excellent choice. The term “park flyer” means small, primarily electric RC airplanes. They are named park flyers because they are small enough to be flown at public parks.
Another recommended radio control airplane for beginners is called an A-R-F (Almost Ready To Fly) high-wing trainer. A-R-F planes are built already and don’t require a lot of time and building experience to get ready for flight. A-R-F planes also have fairly large wing spans (60-70 inches) which aids in better visibility and more stable flight. It is best to stay with these two types of planes until you feel comfortable and have soloed (Take off, fly and land on your own). Then you can move to the intermediate level.

For intermediate pilots, there are glow plug engine RC planes and electric radio control airplanes. Glow plugs, which are similar to spark plugs, ignite the nitro fuel in the plane operating as a small gas engine for power. Recommended intermediate RC airplanes would be in the sport and profile class.

Now, for the expert pilot:
Jets, RC Helicopters, Large Electric RC Airplanes,
Multi-Engine
and Pattern Competition Aircraft provide an exciting challenge. Sophisticated electronics and speed controllers have now taken the ways of controlling an RC airplane to new levels. These aircraft are not considered toys to play around with.

Jets use ducted fans or real mini turbines to power them. They are built from carbon fiber and fiber glass. RC Jets can achieve speeds over 200 mph, requiring lightning quick reflexes and many hours of experience.

RC helicopters are trickier to fly than RC airplanes and are much less forgiving. Flying RC helicopters is like standing on a bowling ball blindfolded! But once you get it, they can do some unbelievable stunts.
